Alma Haro

The artistic trajectory of Alma Haro is a journey of unlearning and vital rediscovery. After years working as an architect in Madrid, a period that gave her a privileged view of volume and an instinctive understanding of space, her move to the island of Menorca in 2021 marked a profound turning point. In the stillness of the island, she discovered that the technical language of architecture was no longer sufficient to channel her inner world, which led to an organic transition toward the visual arts. Her artistic practice moves away from planning, sketching, or rational control, and instead embraces a purely intuitive and emotional creative process. In the solitude of her studio, music dictates the rhythm of her hand. Without the filter of thought, she allows the emotions of the moment to guide the carving of plaster and the mixing of pigments within the resin. It is an exercise of surrender in which the material is not mastered, but felt, allowing each piece to be an honest reflection of its vibrational state. The core of his work is an exploration of identity. Through his sculptures, he reflects on who we are beyond the labels imposed by family or society, questioning whether we would be the same if our circumstances had been different. In this dialogue, he uses materials with different languages: Resin: Allows him to explore lightness, color, and the layering of surfaces, integrating light as an essential and immaterial element. Plaster: Material that he carves by hand to create abstract and floral motifs, contributing a tactile and earthly dimension that contrasts with the resin. Encapsulation: In his most recent pieces, he introduces a conceptual component in which words and messages are trapped between layers. These remain invisible to the eye, but they exist as a graphic testimony of the elements that make up our essence.
Since their debut in Paris, they have developed a growing career with solo and group exhibitions, consolidating their presence in the contemporary art circuit. Currently, their work is part of private collections and they present at Enso Art Gallery a new proposal focused on the resonance of the invisible.
