Virginia Torrego

Virginia Torrego, a Madrid-born ceramicist now based in Mallorca, is a multidisciplinary artist with training in the Restoration of Antiques, Art History, Sculpture, and Museology. She opened her first art school at the age of 34 in Madrid, and in 2010 founded 'Creae Espacio Creativo' in Menorca, where she led workshops for more than a decade. She currently directs the gallery and workshop 'Latrés' in Selva, in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana. Her ceramic work — intimate and meditative — is characterised by a sober aesthetic, organic forms, and an emotional language deeply connected to her inner world. She has exhibited in her own spaces and online, with pieces such as Madre and Yeleen, in which clay acts as a medium for healing, expression, and silence.
