Overview
In these classes, we will practice key painting techniques to then develop our own artistic style. We'll master drawing, color mixing, light and shadow, perspective, and other essential elements of painting to build a strong foundation that will allow us to freely express our creativity. We'll focus on developing intuition, so through experimentation, we can best express the inner world that each of us carries, a world that is unique and irreplaceable.

Course Content
In these classes, we will practice key painting techniques to then develop our own artistic style. We'll master drawing, color mixing, light and shadow, perspective, and other essential elements of painting to build a strong foundation that will allow us to freely express our creativity. We'll focus on developing intuition, so through experimentation, we can best express the inner world that each of us carries, a world that is unique and irreplaceable.
- Course introduction and first pencil/charcoal sketches. Proportions.
- Practice of drawing, light, and shadow.
- Choosing an image to draw in black and white.
- Color. Color mixing, first brushstrokes with acrylic, the language of color in combinations. Intuitive color search.
- Acrylic painting. Impressionist practice. Applying color with thick brushstrokes. Introduction to palette knives.
- Continuing with acrylic painting.
- Realistic practice with acrylic.
- Choosing an image and developing a realistic acrylic painting.
- Continuing with realistic painting.
- Textures with gesso and acrylic. Introduction to collage. Using palette knives and different materials to create textures.
- Creating an abstract painting using techniques learned in the previous class. Practicing acrylic in abstract painting.
- Oil painting. Introduction to oil painting.
- Free-style oil painting practice, choosing an image to develop.
- Continuing with oil painting.
- The language of color. Using colors to express emotions. Study of color and its effects on our perception. Chromatic communication exercises.
- Symbolism. Developing personal figures based on concepts and emotions. Symbolic expression exercises.
- Study of inspiration. What attracts and motivates us on an individual level. Creating three paintings on the theme or themes that move us, using any technique.
- Exploration and experimentation with the techniques we most connect with for self-expression.
Non-intrusive support in the artistic process. Each student will create an artistic project of one or more paintings using the ideas and resources learned in previous classes. These final projects will be exhibited in our gallery, Enso Art Gallery, at the end of the course.

Objectives
- Master drawing, color, light and shadow, and perspective; understand the behavior of the materials we work with, mainly acrylic and oil.
- Practice different styles such as realism, impressionism, and abstraction.
- Learn to shape and color our emotions and ideas, as well as establish our own work plan.
- Find and develop our mode of expression.
- Enjoy the process. The best things always come from fully living in the moment, free from dogmas and mental blocks.
